New policy for invoicing Demurrage and detention charges for Import longstanding containers in Norway
As per the existing standard practice, Maersk provides the accrued Detention & Demurrage charges for Import Longstanding containers to you upon request. Also, the standard Detention & Demurrage tariff is uploaded on our local website for you to refer to.
We are now introducing a new initiative whereby we will offer a ’pro-active’ service where you will receive our Demurrage and Detention invoice every fortnight after cargo discharge. Standard freetime, as well as any special free time, will be apply as normal.
You will have full transparency in terms of the Demurrage and Detention costs involved for the discharged containers from an early stage. You can review, accept the provided charges and settle the invoice amount prior clearing your shipment or communicate to us if you notice any invoicing errors.
The above change will be implemented in Norway from 6th of July 2021.
In case of questions, feel free to contact your local customer service teams.
