We continue with the much-improved operational environment in South Africa: minimal waiting time, low terminal, and yard density, plenty of depot capacity and an improving equipment position. The Southeaster, largely absent through summer, made an unwelcome appearance in Cape Town this week, but overall, it’s a positive operational picture. With business South Africa back from vacation, throughput has increased, and we are seeing some limited pressure on port and landside infrastructure. Our services remain on schedule and fully open for business.

Further afield, on a positive note, the political situation in Mozambique has eased – Beira and Maputo, however, still has high waiting time. Port Louis is recovering from the low productivity and the delays of Q4 last year and waiting time has reduced.

Finally, the clock counts down on the go-live date of our Network of the Future – the replacement for 2M. We launch 01st February! Gemini Cooperation | Network of the Future | Maersk
