The waiting time in Cape Town has not improved as expected, with the terminal now facing an 8 to 10-day delay. Additionally, strong winds are forecasted from Monday through Friday, 14th March, which will likely push back the berthing of Maersk IYO 509E even further. Given these conditions, we anticipate vessel bunching in Cape Town, particularly affecting Maersk Chennai 508E & Maersk Iyo 509E. To mitigate this and ensure timely arrival into JAL, we have decided to advance Maersk Iyo 509E to Coega and omit Cape Town.
To accommodate this adjustment:
- All export bookings will be transferred to the next MW1 vessel, Maersk Cubango 510E.
- All import containers originally scheduled for discharge in Coega will be rerouted accordingly for onward transport to their respective destinations.
