Your partnership remains of the utmost importance to us, and as your integrated logistics partner, our aim is to ensure that your supply chain moves with agility, connectivity and ease. As part of A.P. Moller – Maersk’s goal to ensure the efficiency of your supply chain, we are continually keeping an eye on developing situations.
The recent congestions in the ports of Rotterdam and Antwerp have meant that we have had to assess the sustainability and accuracy of our inland transportation rates. To secure the needed capacity in the market and minimise disruptions to your supply chains, we will be introducing an Inland Peak Surcharge (IPI/IPE) across all inland transport modes via the ports of Rotterdam and Antwerp.
As of the 1 May 2025, we will be implementing this surcharge for all Carrier Haulage and Multi-carrier Inland bookings as follows:
- For all truck, barge, rail and all combined intermodal transports bookings to/from the deep-sea terminals of Rotterdam and Antwerp: EUR 10 per TEU
- The surcharge will be applied based on Price Calculation Date (PCD)
The surcharge will remain in place as long as it is necessary to ensure we can provide our customers with the needed capacity in the face of reduced turnaround times impacting landside productivity.
Rest assured that our teams continue to monitor the situation to support best possible flows and will keep you updated in case of any changes.
We appreciate your understanding and support in overcoming this extraordinary situation together.
Should you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with your local Maersk representative. Our teams remain at your disposal should you need further assistance.
