Dakar: A.P. Moller – Maersk (Maersk) Senegal has been awarded the Level 1 CSR Label by the Conseil National du Patronat (CNP) at the 2025 Assises de l’Entreprise, bestowed by Amadou Moustapha Ndiack Sarre, Minister of Employment and Vocational Training. This honour recognises Maersk’s ongoing commitment to its purpose: to improve life for all by integrating the world.

A central pillar of Maersk Senegal’s CSR strategy is its partnership with Women in Logistics Africa (WILA). Since 2022, 119 women have participated in the mentorship programme across Ivory Coast, DRC, Cameroon, and Senegal, with 49 mentees successfully integrating into the professional world. The programme boasts a 100% recommendation rate from participants, and professional integration rates have improved from 36% in 2022 to 64% for the ongoing 2025 cohort.

The programme partners with leading organisations from the logistics sector, and covers supply chain fundamentals, warehouse operations, Lean basics, leadership, and soft skills. Monthly mentor-mentee follow-ups and midterm surveys ensure ongoing support and impact.

I would like to extend my warmest thanks to the Women in Logistics - Africa (WILA) team for their commitment and support. This programme provides a genuine framework for growth, reflection and solidarity for ambitious young women.

    Fatou Cheikhou Thiam
    Mentee of the Logistics Programme

The mentorship programme is fully voluntary. Mentors are experienced professional women with at least 10 years in their field, members or allies of WILA, and committed to empowering the next generation. This year, four mentors from Maersk Senegal have been selected.
