A planned Block of Line (BOL) affecting all rail services in and out of Lyttelton Port Company (LPC) is scheduled from the 9 August to the 16 August 2026. KiwiRail Freight, in collaboration with Lyttelton Port Company (LPC), have confirmed that this closure is required to enable the full replacement of the concrete slab beneath the rail crossing at the port entrance, along with works by Christchurch City Council to upgrade the services underneath.

With rail services unavailable to and from LPC during this BOL period, we encourage customers to review supply chain inventories and re-plan critical cargo for movement prior to the closure period or otherwise defer movements until services resume.
