Timely deliveries start here

Our customer, a global tyre manufacturer based in Italy, sources rubber from West Africa (Takoradi in Ghana, Abidjan, and San Pedro ports in Ivory Coast) to supply their factories in Egypt, Turkey, and Brazil.

With multiple locations involved in raw material procurement, they faced significant supply chain challenges, particularly in ensuring timely deliveries and maintaining visibility.

Route details

Shipments are coordinated with our client’s sister companies on the W3A WAF3 route (West Africa to Europe):

Origins:
Takoradi (Ghana), San Pedro (Ivory Coast), Abidjan (Ivory Coast)

Destinations:
Port Said and El Dekhelia (Egypt), Santos, Rio Grande, Navegantes, and Itapoa (Brazil), Yarimca, Izmit, and Gebze (Turkey)

They needed a partner to act as their on-ground representative/booking agent and enhance shipment visibility by closely monitoring purchase orders and supplier performance. This is their journey of achieving timely deliveries through a simplified booking process.

Challenges of a fragmented booking process

The lack of an integrated process and involvement of different carriers at various stages led to several challenges:

Visibility issues
Difficulty in monitoring shipments due to the absence of representatives in origin countries.
Communication barriers
Language and cultural differences with suppliers.
Delayed shipments
Impacting production schedules in Egypt, Turkey, and Brazil.
Complex invoicing
Difficult payment reconciliation due to multiple invoices from various carriers.
