In order to simplify free time management for you, detention and demurrage free time will be based on the price calculation date of your shipments. This change will be applicable from 15th Aug 2020.
Definition
Combined Demurrage and Detention starts from the day discharge (included) and ends with gate-in empty at the depot (included).
Import combined DnD Tariff, effective 5th July 2024.
Applicable for all import cargoes to Singapore both IAS and Non-IAS trades.

- SPE include open top and flat rack.
- IMO and NOR tariff are the same as container size/type.
- The tariff is subject to storage and other surcharges upon the terminal tariff.

A) Import shipments
Consignee must :
- Ensure that he receives the invoice/packing list from his supplier in order to process the import permits.
- Check with his supplier if shipment is under original bills of lading, waybills or telex release arrangements.
- Check on the estimated time of arrival (ETA) of his incoming vessels or subscribe to Changes in ETA Notification via Maersk website.
Before sending a Delivery / Release request, ensure that:
a) A Shipping instruction has been sent and the Bill of Lading has been processed.
b) All due payments have been made both by yourselves and the exporter at the origin end.
*As from 1st May 2022, a new surcharge called Container Protect Essential will application to all shipment imported into Singapore as part of your destination charges. For any additional information, please refer here.
c) Original Bill of Ladings have been surrendered
In case a payment does not reflect in our system 24 hours after your request has been received, we would be requesting you to resubmit your request after ensuring the payment has been processed.
Kindly note to submit your OBL to our Maersk office and ensure payment is received prior to sending the template for cargo release.
B) For Inland haulage arrangement of containers from Tanjung Pelepas into Singapore
- Consignee arranges for a copy of the approved permit and email/ fax to Maersk Import Department to proceed with inland haulage arrangements.
- Consignee to provide 24 hours prior notice on the required delivery date. Details such as delivery date, address and consignee's contact person to the Import department for trucking liaison.
- Once the container has been unstuffed, consignee contacts Maersk immediately for container clearance.

Special port/customs requirements
- Transhipment containers must be declared to PSA 12 hours before the arrival of the import vessel into Singapore.
- Local import containers requested for re-export must be declared 72 hours before the arrival of the import vessel into Singapore.

- Prior to container clearance at the port, customs permits, IE (International Enterprise Singapore) permits or joint customs/IE permits as appropriate need to be processed via Tradenet. Invoices, packing list and bills of lading need to be available for the processing of the above permits.
